Did not work for me!!! this is an old solution and doesnt work for me right now?????????

Virtual DuB 1.9.9

FMP4 is FFMpeg MPEG-4. ffdshow-tryouts has a decoder for it.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout
During install make sure to check the boxes 'VFW Interface' and 'VirtualDub' under 'Application plugins'.
If you already have other codecs, and you don’t need ffdshow to decode anything except FMP4 in VirtualDub, uncheck everything at the two steps where it lets you choose what codecs ffdshow should decode.
When you’re done, go to your start menu, (all) programs, ffdshow, VFW configuration. Select the decoder tab, and click on Codecs on the upper left. Click on “Other MPEG4” on the right, and in the middle column make sure it’s NOT disabled (libavcodec is my recommended choice, but I guess xvid should work fine too). Then click apply and your FMP4 video should be openable in VirtualDub.

Important append: if you’re using the 32-bit version of VirtualDub (regardless of whether you’re on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows), you need the 32-bit version of ffdshow-tryouts (the default download is 32-bit). If you’re using the 64-bit version of VirtualDub, you need the 64-bit version of ffdshow-tryouts (see here). reply
