How to copy video of a file where the first chunk is missing?

posted in Solutions

How do I copy video of a file where the first chunk is missing, to an usable video file?
So, there is video data, but the first (index/header) part of the file is missing.
Is there a solution for this?

The first part of the video contains zero’s. Therefore, there is not any video or video repair program which will even open it (and thus no options to fix the file are presented).
I’ve tried many. (PotPlayer, mpc-hc, Remo Repair, Digital Video Repair, BandiFix, VirtualDubMod, DivFix++...)

If it is possible at all. But I think it should: most video’s use full frames every so many seconds, and from there differential data is stored - until the next full frame. So, it should be possible to re-index any data stream without header? reply
