posted in General

My PC config:
OS: Windows XP PRO SP2
DirectX 9.0c /december 2006/
CPU: Intel Celeron D 2,4GHz
Mobo: PCCHIP M909G
VGA: Leadtek WinFast A7600GS /AGP/

I have a several problems with playback DivX a Xvid files in players /etc. BSPlayer,Win Media Player or Winamp and so on.../.When I open file player is play just sound and no picture.I tried to install many types of codecs /All in 1,K-Lite,Nimo codecs,DivX 6.4 and so on/ ,but anyone helps to solve my problem.I corectly uninstalled previous codecs before installing another one. Sometimes player just freeze and playing didn´t start and after that I have to close player through task manager.

I do some research and I´m able to play movie only when I disable in DirectX acceleration DirectDraw,Direct3D and AGP.After that I´m unable to play games:)

Any help would be appriciated....THX reply

Anyway start from this and maybe you can fix it. First be sure you have a new DirectX install after that check the latest driver for your video card with the manufacturer’s site and install it. In this order DirectX and after that the video card. Once you’re up and running download GSpot and open your file with to find out if you’re missing some codecs. A decent codec collection I recommend is : All in One pack, DivX 6.4, Xvid pack, XP pack and for sound AC3 filter is a must. Stay away from mega packs too big for what you need. If still no picture on VLC or Media Classic ( with the latest BSplayer I had problems) download The Codec Detective and is going to list for you all the codecs from your computer and in red the one is broken. Here is the link for codecs some of them are on Bjarne site too: Good Luck and put your smile back on your face. reply
