Need help with codecs

posted in General

I loaded a video onto a Mac, which put it in a Quicktime format. My teacher said it should work alright in Windows Media, Pinnacle and Windows Movie Maker. It plays in Media, but not Pinnacle, and Movie Maker displays this message:

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Movie.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

Does anyone know the right codec I need to download so I can edit the video?

Thanks reply

From the link above download GSpot and Avicodec and open your file with the one you like. Both are video analysers and tell you what codecs video and audio you may need.Avicodec give you a link if you click on “web” to download the codecs. Good Luck. reply
