Here is what I do. Perhaps it will make sense. An ISO image file basically is like having a “virtual dvd” on your hard drive. If you simply want to watch what is on that file, then you need a “virtual cd/dvd drive on your computer. It shows up when you go to My Computer and is listed just as if you had an additional Cd/dvd drive. All you have to do is mount the ISO image to the virtual drive, and your computer treats it just like if you had and actual additional drive with a cd/dvd in it. This is only for being able to use that ISO image on your computer without having to convert anything. The program I use is Daemon Tools. It’s easy to use and I’ve had great luck with it.

Ok, the next issue. You want to be able to watch your ISO imaged movies on your dvd player attached to your TV. So, Here is what I do, personally. It may or may not be added steps in the process, but I know that it works. I actually make my ISO image with DVD Decrypter. Then, I open the ISO file in DVD shrink and then choose what to keep, what to discard in order to make the file smaller. Then I’m able to burn the appropriate files for viewing my movie using a regular dvd player. I hope this helps, at least a little. If you visit www.doom9.org you should find some really informative relevant information. I have learned so much from that site. Feel free to email me also. I’m not an expert, but I’ve had success in the way I do it. Regards...Robb reply

as another footnote, when i burn the iso using the burn image to cd/dvd button, i pop the dvd in my laptop to see the contents, and i see an avi file (the original format of the movie before i converted it to an iso.) would i have to convert the avi first and then burn it to an iso? from what i understand, an iso should play on any dvd player.... reply

yes you can. you can open it with magiciso or ultra iso. both of which you can find for free on any torrent site. afterwards, you extract the file in whatever format it may be in (vob, mpg, etc.) and convert it using quick media converter. it is one of my most well trusted converters. it converts anything to virtually any format (psp, ipod [mp4], windows media player [wma], mpg, even vob and napl).
hope this was helpful. reply
