Just go to divx.com and download the codec package, and then just open the file in windows media player and you should be good to go. If you have downloaded the divx codec, and it still won’t play then go and google xvid, and download its codec. It should work then. As for playing the .avi on your dvd player, if you have nero 5.5, you should be able to make a VCD, which your dvd player should be able to play.

If you want to play avi files on your computer, you cndo all of the above, but I foundit much simpler to download VLC media player. It plays vlc files fine. i have been using it for over ayar now. reply

ok here is the easiest way to do it,, i dont know what peoples problems are? if you have NERO just open it go to make UDF/iso file. youll burn it in 2 min and you dont have to convert or anything,, and if your dvd player dont play it go buy a cheap on at canadian tire worth 20 bucks, usually all new dvd players will play it though. reply

yeah so open nero ,, click the little men on the bottom left turning it to advanced settings go to data then go to make udf/ISO file drag your avi file to it. and burn,, no converting no bullsh**, you can then burn like 5 or 6 movies to a dvd,,, and it takes two mins,, and like i said,, most all new dvd players will play it and if not go buy a cheap dvd player that supports avi or udf files you can get a $20 at canadian tire. reply
