I have an older XP computer and have several AVI’s that have long obnoxious names that I would like to shorten but when I do I get a message that doing so might make them unplayable. How do I do this?

did you forget to type in the extension, or did you mistype it?
like you renamed obnoxious.avi to nice.aiv or nice (but no extension)
windows warns you because double-click may not work if the extension is missing or not the same
