hm friends.......i had used windows xp sp2......then it works fine but after i install windows sp 3.........i have problems to install windows xp sp2.............when ever i install windows xp sp 2.......it works perfect for first 30 minutes........but when the step came in which area the setup save desktop icons it faile to copy i386 file........it offers me to insert windows xp sp2......but there is no problem with the the bootable cd.......if then i insert the xp sp 3 cd it copy the file..........
so guys my qouestion is how can i install the xp sp2 without the xp sp3 cd?

You should be able to install xp sp2 without a sp3 cd. It sounds like your cd is damaged somehow. Maybe it received some deep scratches?
thankx for rply..........but i think my xp sp2 cd is not damaged because........i can make a copy of this cd,also make image...........so if the cd received scratches.....obviously i can’t do that..................

It’s hard for me to determine what is wrong then. Is this an original Windows XP SP2 disc, or some cracked/illegal copy?
Also have you considered cleaning you CD/DVD drive on your PC? I think you can get CD/DVD cleaner sets that will help you with this.
1check your bios and first boot drive cd/dvd
2-you can cd-dvd cleaner on your pc
3-may be damaged your cd some scratched
