hi, i have this move that doesnt appear to work in windoes media player. i have all the required codecs such as divx 5.05, xvid, mpeg2 decoder, ac3, VOB files. but this is hte only movie that doesnt work so i looked at the media info and says that the video codec is XVID which i have and audio codec MPEG-1, layer 3, but i dnt know if i have that. so can u please tell me what it exactly is and if u can help me fix this so i can watch the movie in windows media player. thnk u very much, i appreciate it.smiley

You might want to pop it into gspot to see what it says. you seem to have the proper codecs (xvid - also windows has an mpeg-3 decoder by default (fraunhoser)). I suspect the file could be of incorrect size.

If it is of incorrect size, use avipreview or media player classic to play it.

I think FFDShow can be used to be able to play DivX, XviD etc. with Windows Media Player...

(it’s a DirectShow decoding filter voor DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2)

I have not tried this myself yet

Hello! well Im trying to edit a video in Windows Movie Maker, but it wont support one of the files, Ive tried everything, but still nothing, It seems that the file’s format is MPEG layer-3, does anyne know where can I download the codec I need?
