every time i try to play a wmv file that error comes up and i cant use gspot because its not avi any help? 
Use avicodec. It can read the codecs of wmv files.

um the v. coedc name is windows media video v7 a.1 vodec name is windows media audio v8 where can i get it?
There’s several ways to do this.
1. Upgrade to Windows Media Player 7, 9, or 10

Naturally which package or version of wmp you choose depends on your version of windows and your version of wmp.
hmm i tried the 2nd one and didnt work and i have the latest verison of wmp. i tried reinstalling it but it wouldnt let me uninstall. and other suggestion?
also i think i need the codec wmv2
