I had to reinstall windows recently and now every time I play video whether its from youtube, a movie or a windows media player my computer will crash after a few minutes and completely turn off. is this a codec issue? it doesnt do it for audio... what should I do?

just to emphasize it doesnt just crash my IE, the computer just shuts down and off completely.
