RealMedia (rmvb) codec

Anyone knows a codec suitable for rmvb files? I want to be able to read and recompress those files in DixV but I need a codec...

Why do you want to recompress them? If you compress them again the quality will be worse.

Install Real Alternative (it comes with a media player (MPC - Media Player Classic) that can be used to play RMV.

Some programs that should be able to convert the files to DivX are TMPGEnc and EO Video. You need to have Real Alternative installed for them to work because it comes with the required codecs.

i need a codec so that rmvb file can be played in windows media player.

I am using the winavi to convert rmvb to mpeg, but I don’t know why everytime I try it , it doesn’t work, it keeps saying that it can not find the source file, is anybody know some software to convert rmvb to mpeg. Thanks

I have some files in RMVB format. What I need is to watch this in a DVD Player at good quality.

After some research, I did this.
1. Download Real Alternative / Codecs
2a. Use WinAVI converter to convert to VOB
- Good quality but huge file. (Fits only 2
episodes)
3a. Use Nero to burn to DVD
===========================================
2b. Use WinAVI convert to VCD/mpeg
3b. Use DVD Santa to convert mpgeg to VOB
- Poor quality but fits abt 7 or 8 episodes
4b. Use Nero to burn to DVD
===========================================

My questions is - How to get good quality DVD at better space usage? Pls advice

You could use the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or Real Alternative from http://www.codecpackguide.com/

heres the codec.. its in french. just dowload and istall. all my players work now

i need to convert real format to mpeg format... relly very sad cannot use it...
