Hi,
Recently i downloaded Realplayer version 10.5 but when i tried to play any rmvb. files, they always mention that a codec (RV40) is missing....anyone can help me on this?? what shld i do?? million thanks!
Does it ask you if it should search for the codec? If so, then let it do its thing. If not then maybe you could try Real Alternative
Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files.
All RealMedia formats (.ra .rm .rmvb .ram .rpm .rv .rp .rt .smi .smil etc.) are supported.
You can download it here http://kppfree.altervista.org/
Hi bobby,
yep..i followed their instructions but they cant find it in their website...error mgs “code cant be found”...
VLC and MediaPlayer Classic for most files . and RMVB is SHITE. it ruins the movie and just SEEMS as if ur saving some oh-so-precious hundred MBs per movie.. bleh
yeah i got the real alternative and it tells me that i can’t play the .rmvb and .rm files. it says that it’s missing an audio/video codec or something like that. what do i do then?
I don’t see anything that indicates the IV40 codec will work on a Mac OS. I’m running OS X 3.9 and have collected a few short videos that need the IV40 codec. I got the IV50 codec, which runs successfully on OS 9 and an earlier version of QT. Any hope?
thanks the link works for me and I can now watch the video I downloaded for long. I want to keep the drama so much!! Alots of thanks!
"sant
k-lite mega pack will solve everything”
No it wont, I have VLC, the latest K-Lite codec pack installed, as well as realplayer. While realplayer does play RV40 files, VLC will NOT.
