.MP4 videos only import as audio files into adobe premiere pro cs3

Hi, so i just got Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and have a problem. My digital camera shoots HD 720p Mpeg-4 movies and when i try to import them into the editor it only imports the audio. Is theere a fix for this without having to convert it and lose quality?

Or a way to convert it without losing quality.

I have a different problem. I have Canon FS 200. It makes movies with the format MOD. I usually transfer MOD into MPG and then send it to Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. The problem I have is that I can’t get any sound whether I edit the film or just play it through the PRO CS3. Maybe I am importing the films wrongly. I don’t know. I need to use it very much but I can’t solve this problem. Please help!
