MOD files converted but still won't work!!

So earlier today i tried doing the simple things to convert my .mod files by going to folder option unchecking the hide box thing and then renaming hte files to .mpg....I was converting one and my computer said display driver disabled or something so i finally fixed that and then the files i converted showed no picture but had sound. I have downloaded divx still didnt work and the ac3 filter and i don’t know what else to do....I just need to convert these files and get them into movie maker....never knew it would be this hard
