BugSpray Guest | Well, firstly .dem files r from counter strike rite? If it is they can only be played on cs and the hltv player. They cant be converted i think because they contain data which isnt really video data. There maybe some way to convert them with some hard out programme. MAYBE.

kevin Guest | you can convert them using any number of programs i use fraps saves the files then use a video edditor of your choice to add music and take out all the death so you look like a l337 cs’er anyway it’s not hard.Do a google search for free video editors and fraps and you will be on your way..happy fragging

BugSpray Guest | you can use rewelator on the .dem files as i hav just learnt and then use movie maker 2. If u need some special effects in ur movie try www.windowsmoviemakers.net and ask for that effect and some1 will make it for u

BugSpray Guest | type into the cs console record and press enter. find to file in the cs folder, it should b a .dem file, then load it in rewelator. it then loads cs and converts it to .avi format

BugSpray Guest | it loads cs then afer the demo file has played it will exit out of cs then put an .avi file in the same directory as the .dem file. It does this coz .dem files contain no frames or pictures, it just has data on wat to do.

Cody K Guest | Hey. I sorted my problem out, it takes too long and is far to fustrating to find out how to play .dem and makea .avi file to play and such. Go to ''fraps'' website, and download it. Then follow it through, you can get pay for it, but if you cant be arsed you can get a demo version.
This demo version, although it only records 30 seconds of video and has a big www.fraps.com at the top of the video, its well worth it. And the resolution isnt great, but it means that it doesn’t take up gut-less amounts of your harddrive space.
So for everyone with counter strike or wants to record gameplay go to www.fraps.com and use that. Its much better, and it works a dream. Or at least what i want to use it for.

I think its called Windows Media Encoder. it has a screen recorder function and no watermark so no more WWW.FRAPs.COM at the top of ur screen. ITS FREE!!! and records to avi.

As i said. *.dem files do not contain any audio or video data. it just contains, the way points of you movements, the reactions, the map data and the *.wads used(textures). They r not reconised formats for any media player apart from counter strike its self.
