Graham Guest | Audio on mpeg layer-3 won’t work on a couple of recently downloaded files. It says it is VBR MP3 audio with video codec of xvid. I believe this is variable bit rate but I have no idea how to make this work with WMP10. It tries to download a new codec when I start in WMP but gets nowhere, only showing picture but no sound. Any help on how I get this to work will be greatly appreciated.

RageDemon Guest | My friend kept getting video but no sound in Windows Media Player (running in Windows 2000), even after trying to install the standard DivX codec posted on the main website. After getting a “Tag 353” error from testing the same movie in DivX player, google led me to this page and that FAQ link for tag 353:

After installing that audio codec, the .avi’s sound started playing instantly. Thanks a lot

Tonberri Guest | Er...I’ve been trying to play these movies on my winamp, and realplayer programs, and the video shows up, but no sound. They’re AVI files, and I can’t seem to find out where to download the codecs for that. The realplayer Check for Updates option said that I don’t have the correct codec installed.
Could someone please email me with what codec I need to download/install? Many thanks in advanced.

Xeon. Guest | Hi I need help I recently downloaded a movie hellraiser and its in video format Generic MPEG-4 is what is aays . And I can play the movie fine I get video but I am missing sound. So I went on my quicktime for my mac os x to find out what it said and it said compression ms . Now what does this mean and how do i get sound going for tis movie any ideas ?
