Stargate 1970 Guest | Hi,
I have this problem. Every time I try to play a movied with the AC3 Dolby audio codec the player crashes. It does not matter which player I use.
Under the details of the error I get the following information:
AppName: realplay.exe AppVer: 6.0.11.853 ModName: ac3audio.ax
ModVer: 2.2.0.0 Offset: 0001121d
According to GSpot I have all codecs installed, so I really don’t know what’s wrong. Could somebody please help me?
Thanks
Stargate 1970

I find that all that’s needed it to turn up the Wave setting in Volume Control helps. If you’ve got XP:
Go to Start-Control Panel-Sound, Speech and Audio Devices and click on 'Advanced Volume Controls' (on the left). Now put the Wave setting up to the very top and adjust the Volume Control setting so it’s near the bottom.
Play the video content that’s got AC3 audio. While it’s playing gradually adjust the Volume Control setting until the volume’s at a good level.

Clownboat Guest | I’m having the same problem, crashing when trying to play stuff encoded in AC3 5-channel. Will downloading the codec linked in this thread fix it? And will I need to make those registry corrections to hear the volume properly?

ddogg777 Guest | hey Fright, I am using the AC3Filter V.70b and I have been trying to lower/raise the volume on all my channels simultaneously. The best solution would be to lower/raise the wave control in my audio panel but that doesn’t do anything to the sound. Am I missing something here? Is something configured wrong? I have to lower/raise the volume of each channel individually.
