You can’t burn .avi files to and dvds or vcds without getting some type of error. To burn a dvd or vcd you have to covert .avi file to .mpg 1 or .mpg 2, then it will work fine.

I have successfully burned Avi files to dvd using Nero 7.0 that work fine on my dvd standalone. My questions is... say I start with a 700mb .avi file, using “add video files” in Nero it turns it into a 3.0 gig file to burn. It takes 5 hours to burn! Is Nero encoding to a different format? I am wondering if I can save time in burning by encoding it either in a different format or by using another third party software first to encode before I use Nero?

I have read the thread honest

I have a question that hasnt been answered.
is it possible to burn an avi movie that is over 700 MB to one CD-R? or do you have to use a DVD+R instead? is there a way to condense it?

I had the same problem about the vcd not passing the menu. Just press the "1" button on your remote and it should start playing.
That solved the problem for me

Hey
I have these fills of movies that are under the 700MB limit but when i try to burn them as VCD’s on Nero Express it tells me that my file is too big. is there a way to compress my file size and then burn it in the VCD format??
