i want sofware of sony mp4 using for reformatting

I cannot get videos on to my Sony NWZ-A826K MP4 player via the software which came with it (Sony Media Manager Pro v1.1)and can’t find the 'quick guide' . Audio files transfer OK but the software only detects the 'sample' videos not those I’ve downloaded to my laptop. The Software 'sees' the folders I’ve got the files in but not the files themselves which are in WMA format. I downloaded via British Film Council’s recommended website Coolroom which said it’d ask you if you wanted MP4 format then didn’t and downloaded in WMA so I’ve now paid for a film I can’t watch on my player! I’ve tried all the free file converters but they either do not detect the file or return 'file format error' when I try to load the files to convert! Any one out there got the same player and can tell me in layman’s terms what on earth I can do to fix this please?

I DONT KNOW THE MODEL OF MY MP3 PLAYER IT WAS ONLY GIVEN TO ME BY MY BRO, NOW ITS NO WORKING I NEED TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE AS SAID BY THE TECH.
