Hey I got one of those new MP4 players from china, its this one

I know it says that its capeable of handleing all types of video and picture formats but its not. This one can only handle AVI which brings me to my point, When I put a AVI files in this MP4 it says FILE FORMAT ERROR. it does it with pictures too. The music files play fine though. I have tried formatting it to FAT in MY COMPUTER, which it tells me to do so that has been done already.
Another problem is that its reading as a removable disk and has no problems except that when I use the RDISK UTILITY or FIRMWARE UPGRADE it says that there is no removable disks attatched, even knowing that it is connected to my pc and has no problems when I go in MY COMPUTER.
If anyone knows how to put movies and pictures into it without any problems I would gladely award that person with my firmware incase they have the same one and its dead and a converting software too that I bought which is quite useful in most mp4 and Ill throw in a MP4 MPX transcoder if they need it.

I looked at the link you posted and the model of the product is MP4-12 by Shenzhen (a Chinese company).
I don’t know how accurate the page is, but going by what it says, it only supports mp3, wma for audio; wmv for movies; and jpeg for pictures. If that’s correct, I doubt feeding it an avi will work.
Even if you manage to find out it accepts wmv files, you will need to know what codecs are supported. wmv (windows media video, same as asf more or less) is a container (like avi or quicktime (mov)), and inside you can have video and audio streams encoded using different codecs. WMV files can be produced using windows media encoder.
Finally you may need to find out if the player can only handle restricted types of files (for example variable bitrate vs. constant bit rate, maximum bit rate, resolution, frame rate); these will affect your choice of encoding parameters. (Levels and profiles may make this a bit easier.)
I’m surprised the player didn’t come with a manual (even if just in electronic form like pdf) telling you those details, or a program to convert your video files into a format the player can handle.
I just puchased the same item. My problem is that I cannot radomize the entire playlist. I didn’t have any problems loading pictures though. Most of mine are jpeg stored in Windows program and some were using the kodak shareware program. I was also able to download video clips using WMA. I dont know if this helps you any, but I thought it was worth a try. Good luck!

i just bought this mp4 im not sure what kind it is but it says it has a dv 5v usb i think n it has a design fc ce n my problem is that when i download music it doesnt appear on my mp4 but when i hook it up to the computer it does work could u please tell me what the problem is n how i coud fix it please!
i sent a message right above this one but i didnt give enough information! anyways i bought a mp4 camera player and when i download music to it takes away the mega bites but when its already synced i remove it and it doesnt appear only the sample one and when i rehook it to the compuer it plays the music i downloaded but it wont play on the mp4 when its diconnected from the computer and already synced could some one please tell me what the problem is and how to fix it please!
