video and audio not synchronised while playing

Hi! I’m having this problem with a video I’m creating. I’ve transferred my digital pics to a slide show and threw in a few MTV videos to make my VCD interesting. The problem now is, the audio and video does not synchronised with one another. The difference increases as the movie plays. Someone suggested VirtualDub. It only works with .AVI files. How do I rectify this problem with the finished VCD product, i.e., .DAT file? Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks!

i have windows xp pro with windows media 9 series & powerdvd when i play music sound is ok when playing a dvd sound is very jumpie but the picture is fine what codecs do need & where can i get it please help.
