Media Center TV Out

I have just set up my Media Center and everything works except for my instant TV out. My laptop screen goes blank, but nothing comes up on my TV. I have all of the cables connected, I was just wondering if there was something I needed to change on my computer. I have a Toshiba Satellite P15 series.
