argh!!! i hate it! im having trouble with a daria episode i downloaded, its a mpg file and it just wont play! it keeps comin up with the same message....oh and that http://df.axeline.com/dicfix site wateva it was is under construction apparently so i cant get in!

your codec problem can be solved by installing the codec pack at http://www.xpcodecpack.com/

How stupid do you think people are? They aren’t going to give credit card details out on a public forum - whehter their details or not; and, how stupid are you? You’ve just posted something thoroughly felonous, and the site has a record of your IP; your IP is linked to your details. Did anyone try to Download the VLC media player?
that should have solve your problem. just go and Google it.

I downloaded the VLC player which plays the video with garbled sound and degraded quality picture. In other words not a viable fix. I also downloaded the XP codec from http://www.xpcodecpack.com/....but that didn’t solve my problem either. So I’m back to square one. This blows!! I can’t believe theres no fix for this! Aaaaargh! Any other ideas?

Did you run Microsoft Update etc? And update DivX? If so, read on...

You need to download the GSpot Codec Information Appliance (google it), and use that on the file. That’ll tell you what codec it needs; then, download it from free-codecs.com (I think!)
Although actually, that’s a good point - does this happen to all your video files, or just the one? If it happens to the lot, we need to think more generally.

It means That the mp3 and or wave file is to short. I don’t know why you can’t burn somthing less then 2 sic...long

I’m new to this and very confused........I downloaded a movie and it will not play, it gives me this error 0xC00D1199. Will not work in any of my players and I tried the ones you suggested on this forum as well.
Is it because it’s still in .torrent format? and if so how do I change that?

Download VLC Media Player. It can play most of the file types which are not supported with WMP. Cheers

tried the Download VLC Media Player it plays for 18secs blank like no sound or video, whats going on? also installed al the codecs.

Yes the codecs and the player are “safe” - neither is a virus. The point about this message is that its one of Microsoft’s standard error messages, aimed to cover a whole range of problems - basically designed for when it doesn’t know what the problem actually is. That’s why this forum exists; so that people have a place to ask about one of the most cryptic messages in existence...

amac — it could be that that’s all there is in the file... Use the GSpot Codec Information Appliance, because that’ll tell you whether or not the file is corrupted etc.

well i used the gpsot thing, it said that the file was not a valid avi file, so does this mean its corrupt? or just a file witht the wrong extension?

0xc00d1199 is a generic missing codec/corrupt file error. You can’t identify a needed codec using only that. try running it though Gspot codec identifier to find out what codecs you need.
