i can’t play a certain avi file. i try to play it in vlc media player and all it doesn’t work. i tried to play it in windows media player classic and it says that it can’t render the file. i ran gspot and it says the file type is unknown. can someone help?!? any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Try with an other program that analyses video files (AVIcodec or videoinspector) If they can’t recognize it either the file probably is broken or uses a rarely used codec.
Codec packs can sometimes give you more problems than you had before (bad picture quality, sound and picture not sinc.)
Where did you take that file? If is a download might be a rar’s colletion and have to use WinRar to extract it.If is an iso or bin won’t play either.Iso and Bin are image files for cd ready for burning. So what’s your extension: avi iso bin or what? If is an avi and won’t work with GSpot is a fake. Here is a link to help you:http://filext.com/ Type your extension and find out what software works with.
