avi/wmp9

i got some avi files on my pc which i play using wmp9.
since last week they have stopped working and all i get is a green screen but i have the sound on wmp.
they play ok on my interactual and nero player so does anyone sugguest what i can do?
i have d/l the codec pack off microsoft but no luck.
