Bup and vob are parts from a video ts folder and are ready for burning on dvd.If you want to play the vob on your pc download any player you like and is going to work.Power DVD and WinDVD are the popular also any player for avi file like WMP or BSplayer or VLC work ok.Here is a link to some free players and codecs:http://www.free-codecs.com/ reply

Here are some links for a MPeg2 decoder download it and install it.WinDVD 7 is the latest version and have to work with vob’s.Daemon Tools is good to have it works with a lot of image files.http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&hs=GQF&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=MPEG2+codec&spell=1 reply

First you don’t say how you burn the video ts.If you burn it as a data won’t work and second if you burn it ok be sure about the setting of your video system PAl or NTSC.If you use Nero Vision put only the vob file and again check the video system or if you use a different burning software like VSO Copy to DVD or Clone DVD2 just point to the video ts and the software is doing the job.If you want to use Nero Burning Room here is a screenshot how to load the video ts :http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/207083 reply

hello,
so i ripped a dvd from a sony handycam onto my computer resulting in a video ts file on my hard drive, which contains bup, vob, and ifo subfiles. they play in windows media player, but i am trying to use them in windows movie maker and am running into problems -

i canít drag all of the files to wmm and the ones that i can are cut up strangely and the time is distorted. for instance, a 26 minute segment appears as 26 hours (!) and therefore wonít fit into the storyboard. when i preview it in wmm, however, it plays fine, just showing hours counting down where it should be showing minutes. other files simply come up in wmm as being less than 10 seconds, even when the same file played in wmp plays the whole dvd. iím really confused.

any help would be greatly appreciated because this is for a class project that iíd like to do well on.

thanks,
anand reply
