I too have .r00, .r01, etc. files to play. Right click on the file you want to play and press “properties." Look for a button that says “change” (it should be next to a text that says “opens with: unkown application.") After you press change a box will appear. Scroll down to Windows Media Player, double click, and then in the properties box press “apply” and then “ok." Double click on the files whose property you just changed. It should open with Windows Media Player. After is opens a box will probably appear that says something about the file being unrecognized. But if you press 'play it anyway,' it will play in regular quality.
Tell me if it works. reply

Hey cuzzo, you can probably right-click the file that has the extension “rar” and using winrar or 7-zip ( http://www.7-zip.org/ ) you should be able to extract them... reply

If you get picture but no sound, I am guessing it is a audio codec issue. look at the file and right click to bring up little pop up box and go to properties down the bottom. now when in properties for the file click on advanced down on he bottom right corner and it will tell you what the video and audio encoding is. what is the audio encoded to? reply

It doesn’t say anything about audio and video encoding. It just has two boxes checked. Those two are: “File is ready for archiving” and “For fast searching, allow Indexing Service to index this file." There’s another box, un-checked, that says, “Compress contents to save to disk space." reply

WINRAR extracts the movie from the .rar packets! The reason why uploaders of movies put them in .rar format is because if the movie file was corrupt, all the uploader has to do is reupload the individual packet that was corrupt, not the whole movie/

Download “Corporate Edition” of Winrar at Torrentspy reply
