MKV Rules, some people want to play MKV movies in 1080p res and high res 5.1 audio with old computers and that’s not MKV fault, an AVI with DVD quality requires 5 or 6 times less processing power and bandwith, a lot of old CPU’s and even old BUS´s to handle. The new Atom 1,6Ghz isn´t capable of playing(fluid) a MKV with 720p x.264 with 5.1 DD sound, also my P4 2.0 fails. MKV can pack extremely high quality video and audio and old machines can´t suport it, it’s like playing Crysis or GTA IV on a lame computer, you can´t blame the game that your machine suck. There are also many people who install all the codec packs they find and it´s natural to crash when it opens some kind of more complex files. Reinstall windows, put the right drivers (chipset, video and sound are extremely important) and install CCCP and try all the MKV files you want and you will have no trouble playing MKV´s unless your hardware is limited somehow.

You don´t even need a codec to play it if You choose Media Player Classic Home Cinema 1.2.908,VLC Player,Gom Player,MPlayer...(there are a few more freeware´s out there). For coding ( again,I´m talkin´´bout free stuff),You have Media Coder,...,(my favourite)ASXGui !!!

Hi, I’ve downloaded a show and it says is in mkv file however the file type shows its 015 file. So I’m kinda confuse what file type is this? This is the file name Boys.Before.Flowers.E01.720p.HDTV.x264.mkv I’ve used VLC and Media Player Classic to open it but it failed. So is there anyone kind enough to tell me how to open this show? Thanks.

Hey! I have a problem. I can watch MKV files just fine on QuickTime Player, but I can’t see the subs. And I’m sure it came with subs.

Do I use the same codec others use when they can’t watch MKV at all? I’d rather use WMP, but I have divx.

The interface has been designed to ease the users and is very easy on the eye. You can enjoy a comfortable conversion process. Moreover, it also can convert into Zune video from almost any popular video formats, such as AVI, WMV, MP4, MKV, etc.
