I’ve been trying for days to burn films I have downloaded onto a dvd -r so that it can play on a stand alone DVD player.
My computer already has NTI CD&DVD Maker and Cyberlink PowerProducer Gold.
I have tried burning as .avi and also mpeg.
It works fine on my computer but when I try the Stand alaone DVD player it says “incorrect format”.
Please can someone help. It is getting really frustrating.
Thanks in advance
NTI is not one of the best burning software but has a nice interface.First what kind of avi you have and what size.GSpot can help you to find out.If is a vob is ready for dvd to burn but check the video system or your dvd player for plying Pal and NTSC, if the file is just avi have to be converted to whatever format you want VSD/SVCD/DVD.Here you may find some tools to download: http://www.9down.com/
I have divX installed and this enables me to watch all my downloads on my computer.
I’m really sorry but I’m not technically minded and thought it was just a case of downloading and burning.
I have an avi file that I converted to mpeg - but the same error appears when i try to use a stand alone dvd player.
Download WINAVI N convert the file to VOB thats dvd format then use nero express N burn it to a DVD n it should work or just Use the mpeg file N burn it with nero express which will Convert it to VOB for u But take some time to do.
ripp dvd with dvd decrypter and use nero recode to burn it will play on dvd player and computer you can get both for free go to www.nero .com download ver. 5.5 its free email me at firstname.lastname@example.org ill send you dvd decrypter they work very well together

Oh, my Ghod, Mike, Thanks.
I’ve been trying for weeks and now I can finally play my downloads on a stand alone dvd player.
I have a poratble dvd player, too, but it’s quite old so I don’t think supports divx, is there a way to burn them so they can play on a player without divx?
It’s under eyes buddy.Open DVD Decrypter look on the top at the Mode tab click on it and choose your preferences the graphic is very good. From DVD to hard drive and if you check write is from hard drive to dvd.
Nop, sorry. I’m not using DVD Decrypter and Nero, it’s Divx to DVD and Nero I’m using.
I’ve gone into DVD Decrypter and the Mode tab and the choice is FILE, IFO or ISO>Read/Write
I can’t see anything that offers the option to change the source.
one time i downloaded a movie that is .iso format and i used nero burning thing and just burned it onto a dvd and it works on regular dvd players. right now im looking for a program that can convert avi (or any type of video file) to an iso file. anyone know of any software?
