This all-in-one media player will play just about any media file type there is. It has some internal decoding capabilities (particularly for MPEG-2, DVD, and AC3; otherwise mostly for parsing containers - AVI MPEG OGM MKV MOV MP4 3GP RM ASF/WMV). It is still likely that you will need additional system-wide codecs for some media files (for example if you have Quicktime and RealPlayer installed it will also be able to play back files with QuickTime- or Real-only codecs).
