Trouble finding AC3 DirectShow decoder (code 8192) FOR A MAC

k, so i downloaded both... and none of them work, it doesnt let me open the movie in quicktime and divx still has no audio

I tried these solutions, both of them, perian and AC3 Codec component and neither works.

Its not working...
this is the name of my file scottpilgrim-cd1.avi
I open it in quicktime, and it says it doesnt understand it...
Divx opens the video but no sound and says the whole you need a decoder...
I now have perian and still nothing even when i press open with Perian, it still says it dosnt understand...
Can anyone help?

I tried Persian but It wont actually open the application. It just keeps opening in system preferences.
