no sound on movie

hi there, i just downloaded a movie which ive wanted for ages and when i use vlc player for a preveiw whilst it was downloading the audio was perfect ! but now once it has completed i play the movie and there is no sound at all ? weird i have every codec required eg. xvid , mpeg4 , ac3 everything possible , any help would be greatly appreciated ! cheers
