No audio when playing in media player

Gives error as no windows media audio 9 codec installed....
all live audio files playing from net, but no audio while playing video files ..
please help needed.
same problem with real player...

Go here and download AC3 filter also GSpot and open your file with and find out what other codecs you may need.All in One pack DivX pack Xvid and players like VLC(videolan) MPC(media player classic) and BSplayer is good to have.http://www.free-codecs.com/

i did the same. but still no audio and it shows as audio codec not installed in the properties...
it asks for windows media audio codec to be installed when playing a movie.but still doesnt installs.this is in win 98.pls help me...

HI..have tried that also... still problem not solved...
even now in properties media audio codec 9 is not installed...but video codec 7.1 is installed....
whys that its searching for audio codec 9.

this problem has been since i formated my system and reinstalled win 98..

The link I gave you IF you click on Win98 download now the file is the one you need.If you don’t have any sound on so many players check the driver for your sound card.WinXP is giving you a generic one Win98 you have to install it.

i did the same..the video is working all players.but no audio only for video movies...
