I have the same problem.
so,

Try uninstalling Quicktime and it’s components..

Then install quicktime Alternative Lite (QT Lite) by first downloading it from here. reply

Answer is on winavi website....

Q.

A.
19.Why every time when I run on the program, I get a pop up message telling me that I need Realmedia codec version 9/Quicktime codec 6.5 or high?

It is because you may have not installed RealMedia Alternative/Quicktime Alternative.o If so, please just download and install these codecs, and after that, this message will not pop up again. You can get these codecs from followings:
RealMedia Alternative: http://www.winavi.com/download/realalt143.exe
Quicktime Alternative: http://www3.winavi.com/download/quicktimealt147.exe
Btw, if you will not do any conversion concerning rm/rmvb/mov formats, please just select the option “Do not show this dialog next time” at the bottom of this message box to ignore it. reply

No one here is trying to use ConvertX. I personally am trying to convert an .avi file to .mp4 so that I can play them on my iPod not burn a DVD! reply

Bledsoe: my bf uses Nero Express 9 to convert avi movies to a dvd. I also have windows XP. he can add up to about 5 or 6 movies on a dvd and play the dvd on a PS3. that way, he saves dvds! try it! reply

Hey!! If the idea is turning AVI into DVD, then I recomend Cucusoft AVI to MPEG converter... for this convertion in particular, and also RMVB to DVD, it´s best than WinAvi... For some other video extensions I would choose WinAvi... reply
