Need Miro DC-30 codec or comperable. HELP

ADVERTISEMENTS

cant seem to open AVIs i created in Premiere 6.5 in Premiere Pro. when i try i get the error” unsupported compression in file”.
The AVis play fine in Media Player so i know they are not currupt.
I used to own a Miro DC-30 card when i made AVIs and i think that is why premiere wont open file, I no longer have that codec.
Please help and excuse the spelling.
THANKS. reply

you are right, the lack of the codec used to compress the original files will cause premiere to not open the files, you need to either find a codec that will read DC30+ compressed video, or convert the old files to a more common compression, e.g. DV,MPEG. Pinnacle do have convertion software called TREX, you can download a trial of it from their site.

hope this solves your problems! reply
