ftp://ftp.vslib.cz/pub/mirrors/ftp.mplayerhq.hu/samples/drivers32/motionpixels/
As above, get aware95.exe if you’re on windows 95, 98, or me, and awarent.exe if you’re on windows nt 4, 2000, or xp.

This codec seems rare and hard to find. I’ll ask Bjarne if he can host it. reply

Oh thank god. Someone has this codec. I misplaced the NT (so it runs in XP) version ages ago. So I could convert it to VCD. But of late, I’ve been converting them to dvd because my player doesn’t play VCD. But it’s great at playing hard to read dvd’s. (insignia) But a few I hadn’t converted yet when my Dell went to sh**. Thanks folks!!! reply

Can anyone here help me out? I keep getting a Motion Pixels Codec error with certain video files. The error message states, “Device Driver mviddnt is not started Please reinstall Motion Pixels!"

I’m only moderately comp literate, but I’ve downloaded the awarent.exe file and tried to open it. When I attempt this, I get another error message that states, “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks for any help that can be offered. reply

I came across my ancient Movie CD copy of the Grateful Dead’s concert film Dead Ahead. I hadn’t watched it in at least a half dozen years ever since I got into dvds. This link was a great find because the 3.1 and 95 version of the Aware player on the disks crap out even in the installation on W2K.

The ftp link for an NT player worked fine as noted, but what happens when Vista comes along; or the next Win OS after that? I want to rip this to mp4 so I can put it on my iPod, but I get codec errors with PQDVD2iPod and 3GP_Converter. Anyone ever rip this codec to a more portable form? reply
