Basta con hacer esto:
Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> type cmd -> [ENTER]) Abrir una línea de comandos (Inicio -> Ejecutar -> cmd tipo -> [ENTRAR])

Then execute the command: A continuación ejecuta el comando:

regsvr32 ir50_32.dll regsvr32 ir50_32.dll

For those of you who are having an error when trying to run regsvr32 ir50_32.dll, and are running Vista, try this:

create a shortcut to regsvr32.exe on your desktop
right-click the shortcut, and hit properties
in the target box, add ir50_32.dll to the end (it should now say “C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe ir50_32.dll”, or similar, without the quote marks, obviously)
hit ok
right-click the shortcut, and run as administrator

that should work :) reply

Vlaka rocks my socks!
For those of us not fluent in spanish:
- open up Run
- type “regsvr32 ir50_32.dll”
- hit enter
After i did this, the avi files with this iv50 codec play in WMP

I’m running Windows 7 and WMP 12

Worked for me too, thanks. reply

I don’t get it. I installed Win7 a couple of months ago. Since then, the few IV5 files I have play in VLC but not in my preferred player, Media Player Classic. I have reinstalled the codec and I just registered it using the command offered above (I got a message saying the dll had been successfully registered). However, the files still won’t play in MPC, and DivX converter doesn’t recognize them either. GSpot reads the fourcc and reports that I have the codec installed, but it cannot render the file. I hate these *#%^@# proprietary codecs and DivX converter is a worthless piece of crap. I am able to convert the files to H264 with VLC, but I shouldn’t have to do that. reply
