Some googling suggests that this is the Newtek codec.
The file you want is NewTek_SpeedHQ_Codec.dll
It might be part of TriCaster which is sold at http://www.newtek.com/
The FAQ says the codec requires a processor with SSE2 (Pentium 4 and later).
The FAQ states the following:
“We recorded a AVI in TriCaster and now I need the codec; where can I find it at?
If you have a TriCaster registered you can download the codec from the NewTek Registration Site”
Sadly I registered and signed in but didn’t find any codec-related downloads. I suggest you contact newtek instead

I have 5 .avi video files that I received from someone. When I attempt to play them, the audio is fine, but the video will not play. Windows Media Player tells me I need the SHQ2 codec, but I can’t find this anywhere. VLC tells me that it is impossible to play the files using VLC because it is not at all compatible with SHQ2. When I try to play with Media Player Classic, I get a “could not render some of the pins in the graph” error. The FAQ at codecguide.com tells me the specific error type means it is a FPS1 video, but I don’t know if that’s true or what to do if it is.
I would prefer to find some way to get this codec to play the .avi files free, but I would also be willing to pay for a product if that’s the only way to get the SQH2 codec that I need.
Can anyone help?
