How to play subtitle via HDD media player device

posted in Subtitles

Hi, I have bought a Hard Drive cover that is used to connect Hard Drive to TV so that you can watch movies directly from Hard Drive to TV.

My question is how to enable Subtitles to be played on TV? The subtitle file .srt is already placed in the same folder and the subtitles are working when I play via MPC player on my laptop. But how to enable them on TV??

The hard drive cover I am using is Lightwave HDD Media Player reply

Those kind of setups are usually not dependent on the hard drive, but on what you’re connecting it to (standalone DVD player or TV). I’d look in the manual for the TV to see what it’s capable of. Note that standalone hardware devices, unlike computers, have less capabilities as to what they can play (format-wise and feature-wise like subtitles). So yeah, just look in your manual to see what it can handle. reply

U need rename the subtile format in the same name as the video nad it will play automatically !

Cheers reply

If the movie is 123.avi
the sub file (srt i use) should be

that uses to work (the same way when i put and avi or divx on a pendrive to watch on my dvd (that has divx support) the name of the files mist be the same reply

I’ve found the best way is to download the file in mkv with built in subtitles. Otherwise it’s dependent on your TV. reply

It worked for me too!!! i just renamed .srt file
for example:
The Words[2012]BRRip XviD-ETRG.avi
The Words[2012]BRRip reply

the .srt doesn’t always work. The administrative tools should, though. reply
