Try installing a codec analyzer such as:
AVICodec
(http://avicodec.duby.info/)
OR
GSpot
(http://www.headbands.com/gspot/)
Load your file in, the post the results you get. 
when iam opening the file with ext .avi,its showing downloading codec error,actually its a movie file, so what shoukd i do
