I, too, was having the exact problem after downloading Game 3 in the Lakers v. Thunder 2010 playoffs. On the 1st page of this thread, I took tltrude’s recommendation ... downloaded and installed ďFFDSHOWĒ and now everything works perfectly in (a) Winamp Winamp 5.572, (b) Windows Media Player 7, and (c) Real Player 184.108.40.2068. I was pretty cautious about doing this, as described here: http://www.okcthunderfans.com/vforum/showpost.php?p=57017&postcount=11
hey. i downloaded movies released in 2010 by torrent. but they do not play. i tried in vlc, windows media player, codec player, divx player, but doesínt work. it says codec not supported, and it directs me to vlan media player download. and when i downloaded vlan media player form other site, the movies dont play even in vlan. any one with same problem? if any one figure it out, plz help.
After reading these posts after downloading a torrent file and not being able to play it on any of the video players on my puter, I downloaded and intalled “Codecs6022_allin1"and then was able to play my first movie. Perfect. Now if the 18 gig file I’m downloading loads properly I’ll be REALLY happy.
Iíve downloaded several motion-image files that are avi files. I try to run them through Windows Media Player and get this error: CODEC Error: Use Windows Media Player. The first 9 or so seconds of the film plays and then it stops. I noticed http://freaktorrents.info/locked/17?embedded=false appeared at the top of the monitor in a window the file was then connected to. Iíve downloaded MULTIPLE freeware software converters and nothing works. Iíve had this same problem with 4 similar large media files on 2 PC laptops. Iíve also re-downloaded one of the files only to still encounter this issue. The only success I had was with a 28 part Prizm film I pulled thru RAR, and was able to view that ó all of these AVI files take forever to download and arenít working ó what am I missing? Many thanks for your clear, knowledgeable help!
