AVI's play in Quicktime, but not Media Player

posted in General

I am running XP with service pack 2 and MP v.10
When I try to load the avi files I downloaded from my digital camera, MediaPlayer plays back a blanc screen. The same thing happens with MovieMaker. It shows the data is there and it is a video file. Quicktime plays them, as well as the photo viewer I downloaded from Fuji, but I want to edit them with MovieMaker. The only place that it gives the file an .avi extension is in the Fuji viewer. reply

Solution One: Download a codec/upgrade Windows Media Player

Solution Two: Play AVI files by using Windows Media Player Alternative- VLC

Solution Three: Convert AVI to Windows Media Player friendly formats with Brorsoft Video Converter reply
