>i read all 10 pages of this thread...
God help us, you read it all and managed to do it all backwards...full points for effort though.
Easiest way to do it is extract the mdf files with isobuster and then burn the resulting ISO file as an 'image' (this is very very important, an ISO file actually specifies where to burn what into the CD). You can use nero to do this.
i extracted the files with isobuster and recorded it on a cd using nero. when i wanted to open the recorded cd in windows explorer it appeared to be full but i couldn’t see any files...
OMFG dude, read my post on page 10 for FULL STEP BY STEP instructions.
Look, i have read this whole forum and yet u ppl still complain about wat to do...
All im looking for is a way to transfer a .mdf file into a .bin file so i could make a patch and put it on a PSX game so i could play it?
Is it that hard to do this?
I’d hate to jump on the bandwagon of questions, but I do have an honest query. I have read all pages and all posts. I have four mdf files and four mds files. I understand how to mount them using daemon tools, but would prefer not to.
So, if I am able to convert the .mdf files to .iso files, my next step is to burn them as images using Nero.
But, what do I do with the .mds files that are smallish? Do they get thrown on the disc with the .iso’s, or need they be converted as well. All of the posts adressed .mdf’s, but not one of them really covered what to do witht he accompanying .mds files.
Any help would be appreciated,
So, in doing further research, it appears that a .mds file is instructional in telling a program (Alcohol 120%) in which way to burn the .mdf to a disc as an .iso... So, if both files are in the same directory, it can be assumed that when converting file extensions, one can select the .mds file (which should tell A120% to burn the .mdf file) and all should be smooth sailing. I will post further findings later, when I am able to convert my .mdf files to .iso’s, and attempt this course of action.
Hi! I need help with my .mdf file. I tried mounting it on deamon tools but it doesn’t work. I check the website and DL the newest version. It didn’t work. I check the site and it said nothing about supporting .mdf files, only .iso and .bin. Also I tried Alchol 120% to mount but it doesn’t work...
P.S the file is a game
Sry for the double post but here is more info on problem...It is a 1g PC game. I don’t want to burn it cause it won’t fit on CD. I have the copy of the orginal but it badly damage...lucky I got it on my comp using Alchol trial before. So it is in mdf mode and can’t play it on trial of alchol. I need to know how to play it by mounting. Thaxs very much.
if it is a psx game use deamon tools to simulate the cd drive then mount the image. then run it with epsxe this should work it worked for me
Hey, Yell0!, I know for a fact that Deamon tools supports .mdf files. I just mounted an .mdf file on Daemon last night. Could be a bad file, try redownloading it.
i didn’t ddownlaod the file...i got it for a friend’s CD casue mine was damage. He had alchol 120%. He made the file and gave it to me, he didn’t want to lend the CD.
the sims2 CAN NOT BE PLAYED on my computer!!! it keeps telling me i have to disable my cd/dvd emulation.what is emulation and how do i disable it ?:( could some one plz explain this to me in english. plz plz plz plz help asap tanx britnika :)
You can use the latest version of WinRAR to open .mdf files... I thought I was stuck when I downloaded a 2Gb Cubase archive because I don’t have a DVD writer, but I opened WinRAR (Download @ http://www.winrar.com/), selected File - Open, and changed to 'All Files', and just selected the .mdf file, and it unzipped it. Safe, redcoza.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I have burned a mdf and everything turns out fine. But when I go and try to run the program on the new cd copy it tells me that it’s 'not a valid win32 application'.
Program used: Alcohol 120%
Method: RAW DAO
ps: the program works fine when I just mount it with alcohol 120%
I’ve read every single thread uptill mine. So far, everyone is asking small questions that makes the answer even more confusing.
What I want to find out is..:
How can you run .mdf file?
If you have to convert it into .iso format, how would you do that.
If you do convert the .mdf file to .iso, what do you after that? Can you run .iso and play the game?
Once you burn the .iso into the CD, is there anything else you need to do so you can actually play the game??
I know most of these questions have already been answered. But since it’s all over the place, it’s super confusing for people to understand what to do. So I’ve pretend that I haven’t read the previous thread and be dumb so I can get one straight answer.
Thanks so much!
Ummm... ALL u have to do is dl/install Alcohol-120% and mount the .mdf file then u will be able to play the file. If its a game then you will be able to INSTALL it. SIMPLE?
How do i download mds file? where can i get em? can i get em rom shareaza or Imesh?
god_got_smacked could you seed that torrent FF8 I need the installation cd thanx
How come when i install Worms Armageddon, it says error, 16 Bit?
I used ISOBUSTER to expand a MDF file. Its a free download.
After starting Isobuster, type the name of the MDF file to open. Isbuster will expand the MDF image file.
