Hi, I am new at this. I’ve downloaded few of the movie files from the p2p site and can’t seems to play the following files with extension .VOB or Video Clip on both RealPlayer or Windows Media Player? It says that additional component needed or error with “Codec”?
Can someone help me to solve the problem?
I am able to play video files with extension of RMVB, DAT, MPEG.
VOB files can be played with WINDVD
Also http://www.videohelp.com has a lot of good info about video stuff.
Get DVDshrink 3.2, it’s a free download. Enables you to watch or play .VOB files
.VOB files can be played using Nero ShowTime.
Just download nerovision express 2.
U can download VLC Player form www.videolan.org
to play vob files even from your hard disks.
Get Media Player Classic 18.104.22.168
It’s small compact but most format can played.
This is great media player ever!
PS: Use Google to find out.
DVD Shrink 3.2 is pretty good for freeware. WinDVD on the other hand is not free, so there’s really no point in getting it.
DVD Shrink does NOT play VOBs, it will play a VOB within a DVD file directory with all the support files but will not play a vob on by itself.
whoever posted “get dvdshrink” should be shot.
That VLC player is sweet, thanks for the link.
What codec is needed for the extension 'Video Clip'?
Div50 / PowerDVD / VLC / Media PLayer / mPlayer2 - ALL do not play them!
I agree on the “shooting” idea DVDshrink is useless. I just tried it on 3 DVDs and it failed to decrypt them.
so whatis the final word which should i download to play .vobs that are on my harddrive??
For DVD & .vob files I use DVDShrink 3.2 but you MUST have ffdshow codecs installed! Has NEVER failed for me!
What about the format 'video clip'?
i have downloaded a movie from net. its is of 4 gb. the problem is its was in .rar extension i have extracted it but when i play it in windows media player it only displays the Track1 and then displays the Chapter’s it contains and shows finished below.never plays a movie. it took me more than 1 day to download. please any one can help me out and give me the solution for playing the movie.
yep the VLC player did wot u said, played my v.ts .vob file no probs, dvdshrink kept asking me to pay for the software which i couldn’t stomach....
Nobody actually knows what the extension 'Video Clip' is on here do they! I asked this question on here right at the start and not one person seems to know. The extension seems to be a Microsoft one so I will ask them instead.
Diolch yn Fawr!
u can play video clip extensions by using Mplayer....u can search on google sayin:download Mplayer for Windows...download it and play video clip extension files freely...it works perfect 4 me...
I burned VOB files using Nero and the media is fine but I have no audio. Anyone know what I have done wrong.
I had the same problem and I downloaded the codec from this site:
after you install it, you can watch the video clips on you windows media player. Hope this helps.
