What is a really good DVD/video converter?

posted in Encoding

I downloaded “Total Video Converter” and I can’t get it to convert the video files from my DVD into a common format such as WMV, MPEG, or AVI, or into sound such as MP3 or WMA, which it says it can do.

I’m not sure what the problem is. Thte files are in a form called ".IFO” which I could only get to play on InterVideo WinDVD, and nothing else.

I’m trying to convert it so I can upload (part) of it on to YouTube, but nothing is working. So, any advice is greatly appreciated. reply

I have used an open source program called handbrake. I Think this is what you are looking for. Here’s the link to their website: http://handbrake.fr/ reply

To convert DVD files, you may need DVD Ripper instead of Video converter.Try Daniusoft DVD Ripper and you will like it. reply

Hi, pal.
If you are using a Mac, I think iSkysoft iMedia Converter for Mac would be the best choice, which can convert DVD and all video files to iPod.
It was recommended on Macworld.com. You will never know how powerful it is, if you didn’t have a try. It’s the best all-in-one converter for Mac OS I used ever.
It’s a total multimedia converter, which can convert all popular multimedia: DVD(including protected DVD), HD video(ts, m2ts, tp, trp, HD WMV, HD MP4), FLV, AVI, MOV, MKV, 3GP, MPEG, DAT, MOD, TOD, RMVB, RM, OGG, AAC, MP3...

Glad to share. reply

I consider aimer soft video converter suite[/url] as the Best DVD/Video Converter.
It is capable to convert DVDs and video files between all popular video formats, including avi,mp4, wmv, mpeg, mov, mkv, flv, etc.
