I have a problem with using dvd as storage for mp3s. I can fill a dvd up mp3 files and even play them from the disc on my computer. But when I try to copy the files back to the computer, or another computer, I get errors.

Anyone have any ideas. reply

there is a software program called audio dvd creator and it will put all music files or upload your cds to a dvd with full menus that you can label any way you want even put your own picture as backround. mp3,aac,flac,ect all formats seem to be accepted and i can set quality from 96 kb up to 640 kb or use pcm witch is flac lossless and the dvd will play in all stand alone dvd players i would not use anything else i made a beatles mp3 disc at 128kb and got well over 50 hours of music with full menus and i could find any song very fast with the easy on screen menus very user friendly plus i was able to put a cool beatles poster as the backround on the main menu and when i select a song it automatically shows the song title the artist the album and year because most all music disc or files have that imformation incoded on it electronicaly that you cant see but the audio dvd creator software decodes it automatically and when you put the dvd disc in your stand alone dvd player the imformation appears and when you select a song or album all the imformation appears on the tv screen trust me anybody can use this software and you can create a seperate file on the dvd for each album or music file so i was able to put 75 full albums on 1 blank dvd with full menus at 128kb at 320kb maybe 50 full albums do a search for audio dvd creator they have 30day free trial 40 doller retail i found on torrent sight btjunkie with working serial just go to btjunkie.com put audio dvd creator in search install and your set i have waited many years for a software program like this and trust me it rocks to sit in my chair and have access to 75 full albums with menus and never have to leave the chair to put in 1 cd after another plus your dvd remote controls every thing kick ass guitar sam out. reply

What is it you are trying to do?
you can put any movie on a cdr that is under 700mb or you can put 5 or more movies on a dvdr

Here is an example
A movie on a cdr need to be in vcd format, this is easy if you have Nero.

1. Start Nero Burning Rom and on the left select Video CD
2. In the 3rd window pane click on the folder where the movie is.
3. In the 4th on the right click on the movie and hold the mouse button down and drag the movie to the 1st pane on the left and let the mouse go.
If the movie is not in the right format Nero will re-encode it and burn it.

Lession 2
If you want more then 1 movie on a dvd and play on your stand alone dvd player then do this.

1. Start Nero Burning Rom
2. Top right of the window click the dropdown arrow and select DVD.
3. Select DVD-Rom (UDF) and click new
4. Like on the cd above select the movies you want and drag to the 1st pane, move as many movie as you can untill you reach 4.7gig, just look at the bottom of the scerrn and keep the size bar in the green. If you see RED you will nee to remove one of the movies.
5. Now select burn.
When finished pop it in your dvd player and you should see the movies pop up in a menu, select the movie you want to watch and hit play or enter on your remote.

Final Note
You can use the same method with a cdr too, just select
Select CD then CD-Rom (UDF/ISO)

Most movies today are in Xvid format which is an avi.
To check first if your movie is in xvid format Right Click on the movie and select Properties and Summary, look at the Video format it will tell you Xvid or the format it is.
If it is not an Xvid format you will need to convert the movies before you can burn them, Search the web for programs to do this, Winavi is a simple program to convert many types of formats, you can even select 5 or more movies and select Merge into 1 file and made it a dvd and burn it.

If you need any other info let me know if I can help. reply

Thank you all for your input. I found it quite illuminating. A big thank you goes to thick whose quick wit and sarcasm kept me from having to box this computer. Just remember, Some of us, however computer literate, still don’t know how to do some things. Illuminate and educate with kindness. reply
