Hi, if your trying to convert (encode) an avi or Mpeg file to DVD (.VOB) then the best tool ive found is winAVI, its great, it will convert AVI to DVD in less than an hour (Depending on your machine) its extreamly simply to use, but you will then need NERO to actualy burn it to DVD. Im new to all this encoding stuff, but like i said winAVI is soo simple to use and the speed is amazing, also you could try TMGenc or i sometimes use DVDsanta, all these tools are great, but if its speeed your after (DVDsanta takes up to 4 hours, TMGenc about 2) then go for winAVI, hope this helps,

Nero should ask u if u want 2 reduce the quality to fit on the disk. It does for me when that happens. reply

How do you make the file smaller once you have converted it to DVD? I am using Nero but it doesn’t give me the option to reduce the quality to make it smaller, please help reply
