I’d use ConvertXtoDVD

You should create a menu for each movie and add in chapters, so it’s not very difficult to get where you want to in the movies. Yes the software allows you to use an image as the background for a menu. reply

Total Video2DVD works well , it converts the file and then burns it without losing any video or sound quality.

and the watermark isn’t too bad so you can still enjoy the movie but on your DVD player =) reply

Hmmm... Then, how do one be able to burn 10 or more 20+ mins. episodes in one DVD disk w/o destroying the vid’s quality? I mean, what software do one needs to use?
I’m using power producer to burn mine .avi files. But, only 3 20+ mins. eps. can be burned on a 4.7 120 min. DVD disk. If it exceeds that. Power Producer won’t allow the burning to proceed...
Since its only mine 1st 2 tries at this, I can’t seem to exceed 3 episodes for 4.7 disk and 6 - 7 eps. for 8.5 one... Can anyone help...? reply

The correct file type for playing in a DVD player is .vob, but I have recently noticed that .avi will work with my portable DVD player, but try using a Maxell 4.7 DVD+R disc and use that,. that should help you reply

How do I know if a dvd player can play AVi formatted movies? reply

A) Look on the box or manual, to see if it supports the codecs used within the video.

__A1) To see what codecs are used, use GSpot or MediaInfo to get the information about the codecs.

B) Burn the file to disc (CD or DVD) and try and play it with your DVD player.

If neither works, then your DVD player does not support the .avi container or the codecs used for the video within the container.

NOTE: 80% of the movies you’ll find online illegally are using the .xvid video codec and .mp3 for the audio codec. reply

How do I play .avi files on my computer and on my normal dvd player? I have Nero and a whole range of different players?

Many thanks.

if your dvd supports divx ( would have a divx logo on the front of it ) then just burn it as a data disk to a cd if your dvd player does not support divx then you will need a program like ConvertXtoDVD (which is what i use) to convert it to avi (mpeg-2 i think) that will work on all stand alone dvd players ( it takes about 40 to 50 minutes to encode it and since i burn them at a slower speed about 14 to 20 to burn them

hope this helps
