Hi, i am having problem with conversion of MKV files. I use DVD flick. It works fine with mp4, mpeg, Avi etc, but i will not convert the mkv file properly. I have tried turning mkv to Divx and burning it directly to the CD. the files converted from mp4, avi to DivX format work fine, but again the same trouble with MKV. The mkv converted files will not play on the DVD player. Can anyone help me with it. i have tried changing the mkv to avi or mp4, but still i get the same problem. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me. My email is email@example.com.
The reason is that the converter you used doesn’t support dvd as output format, it only accepts popular video formats. MKV to DVD Converter can burn mkv files to dvd smoothly and successfully. It has free trial version.
I stumbled upon this forum as I couldn’t figure out how to convert MKV files to video DVD (not easily anyway). Only way I could do it was using Cyberlink Powerdirector and converting each file one at a time to MPEG2, which took about 80 minutes per 40 minute MKV file, and then burn them to DVD from there with just about any software. I did find a nice freeware program that does all of this automatically, in one step, and also does what DVDshrink does (compresses videos to fit any disc size). It’s a bit slow, but you can start the process and leave your computer, come back tomorrow, and it’s done! It’s called E.M. Free MKV Video2DVD 3.12, and you can download it here:
You can use MPEG Streamclip, available for Mac OS X, to convert the video files to DV files and then import those into iMovie or even iDVD.
Or you can try the one “DVD Creator for Mac”. Work prefect! Just not free.
I think this “How to Burn MKV file to DVD on Mac” article will help you.
